NullCon Berlin 2023 is the 2nd edition of NullCon Conference in Berlin.

Nullcon since inception in 2010 has been successfully running the annual security conference in Goa. To give that same zeal & experience to our international community, they organized the 1st ever edition of Nullcon at Berlin in April 2022, and came back in 2023. The focus of the Conference is to bring in the elite security researchers showcasing their offensive & defensive security technology to share exceptional insights on “neXt Big Thing in Security”.

The 2nd Edition features innovative talks by security researchers, unlocking open-source arsenal, workshops & villages, unique CTF’s, dedicated platform to interact with CISO’s, Networking, resume clinic, exhibition for companies to showcase their latest products.

  • a CodeQL workshop presented by Simon Gerst and Peter Stöckli. Simon and Peter started with explaining how to use the CodeQL tool and the basic structure of a CodeQL query, then moved on how to use classes and predicates, and finally data flow analysis and taint tracking. They then used all of that for writing a real world-query that finds CVE-2022-41852.


  • a panel How to make security easier for your developers? hosted by Xavier Rene-Corail with Frida Kiriakos, Marie Theresa Brosig and Santhosh Yadav. The panelists discussed the challenges of integrating security into the software development lifecycle, and how to make it easier for developers to write secure code, addressing topics such as collaboration, human factors, security training, security tooling, and open source.
